Aspall Apple Juice is made from English grown dessert and culinary fruit. Much of the fruit is sourced from around the UK, from the Bramley orchards of Cambridgeshire, down to Kent - the "fruit basket of England" and across to the rich fertile Wye Valley.
English fruit, without question, makes the finest apple juice, and by extending our range to the further reaches of the country, our ability to select the best apples for pressing, ensures our juice is consistently of the highest quality.
The apples are pre-blended prior to pressing to ensure an even balance between sweetness and acidity, and any proportion of apples may be used to give the juice a strong fruity aroma and rounded fresh flavour.
Aspall English apple juice has as its base Cox and Bramley, and this will be supplemented with varieties such as Egremont Russett, Discovery, Worcester Pearmain and Crispin, to name but a few. Once blended, all apples are washed, hand graded - to ensure only the best apples are pressed - before being rinsed 3 times. Once ready, they are transferred to the mill where they are minced to a pulp and pumped in to one of our two Bucher Guyer apple presses. The "mash" is then cold pressed for two hours to extract fresh "single strength" apple juice.
This juice is then positively released based on our quality parameters for sweetness, acidity and most importantly taste. It is then chilled prior to packing. |
